NATIONAL SEMINARS - (2018-2019)

Topic: “Fostering Transparency Routing out Plagiarism A to Z”

     Department of Library and Research Forum jointly organized National Seminar on the topic ‘Fostering Transparency: Routing out Plagiarism A to Z’ on 20th July 2018. Academic standards are the benchmarks of Quality and excellence particularly in higher education. Fostering transparency in every academic activity should be the motto of each academician. Keeping in the mind that, there must be consistency as well as transparency in every academic activity the department of Library and Research forum of the elite institution has deliberated the topic ‘Fostering Transparency : Routing out Plagiarism A to Z with the well structured theme for discussion from among the expert and experienced academicians.

  II year PG Students and Staff members of our college, research scholars and Librarian of other institutions across the country participated in the seminar.
  

NATIONAL SEMINARS - (2017-2018)

Topic: “Academic and Research Integrity in The Digital World”

          Library and Research Forum of our College jointly organized a National Seminar on the Topic “Academic and Research Integrity in the Digital World” on 9th December, 2017. Dr.T.P.D Rajan,Pricipal Scientist ,Material Science and Technology CSIR, Trivandrum and Dr.K.Elavazagan, Chief Knowledge Officer, Dept. of Learning Resource Centre, Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli and Dr.R.Sevukan, HOD, Dept. of LIS, School of Media and Communication ,Pondicherry University were the Resource Persons. 

The  Seminar addressed the following issues:

• Honesty and fairness in proposing, performing and reporting research;
• Accuracy and fairness in representing contributions to research proposals and reports;
• Proficiency and fairness in peer review
• Collegiality in Scientific interactions, communications and sharing of resources
• Disclosure of conflicts of interest
  
  

  "Foresee your Logical thinking in Digital Era"

  Held in the Year 2014-2015
  Pep talk on 27th Sep’ 2015 on the topic “Foresee your Logical thinking in Digital Era” was delivered by Mr. Resignton, Scientist of our town. All the final year both regular and SSC students attended the talk and was ignited on the topic.
  
  
  

  INTERNATIONAL OPEN ACCESS WEEK - (2012-2013)

       In connection with International Open Access Week (22-28th Oct, 2012) Department of Library, St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi hosted  One Day Seminar on 19.10.2012 in the College Auditorium on the topic “E-Resources: A Must in Today’s Scholarly World”. Eminent resource person from various colleges and University delivered online interactive sessions for the participants. Around 225 participants including 173 PG Students took active part in the seminar.
